Just got my hands on this sick little thing. So feckin RAD/ Gonna take it up the coast and ride waves.

Here are a few shots from a little surf mission my good mate Alice Mcgregor and I went on. Woke up before dawn, got in the car and drove out to a not so secret spot about an hour outta Cape Town. We scored some really fun waves and we had one of SA’s top photogs there with us. Alan van Gysen is actually one of the top surf photogs in the world – the dude is so talented and I love working with him. Check out his site HERE. Turned out to be a beautiful morning of surfing in crystal clear water right underneath the most crazy/beautiful mountains. Reckon you couldn’t ask for a better backdrop!

I went to watch Bafana Vs USA at Cape Town Stadium the other night. FLIPPING amazing!! The vibe inside and around the stadium was crazy! I missed out on tickets to see a FIFA World Cup match (Note: Do not leave things to the last minute – tickets WILL sell out) so I felt like I was sorta making up for it by going to this match! Was insane – the stadium was sold out and the vuvuzelas are 10 times louder inside there. You think they are loud on TV? You think? Shoooo my ears are still actually ringing. Bummer that SA lost 1-0 in the last 4 mins though, but all good!

This looks interesting.  Looks like there is an all women longboard flick coming out. It looks as if its going to be awesome! I’m a big fan of longboarding, watching it though,  I’m not great on them but plan to put some time in riding a 9ft log this summer. So hopefully I will improve haha

Ola Ola Hola! Hello. So the comp has started. ISA Woooorld games! The SA Team is doing very well so far, we have yet to loose a surfer! Everybody is still in the event. The waves were very fun on Day 1, 4-5ft lefts and rights and our team dominated our heats. The swell has pulled in and the last couple of days has been solid 10-12ft on the points! Was pretty stoked to get through my heat in those bloody difficult conditions. It’s really tough to surf a heat in conditions like that. Just gotta focus on getting two good waves and just doing what you need to do to get through! Its the same for everybody out there I guess. Stoked everybody pulled through and are we are still in the event, its so easy to have a bad heat when the conditions are so wild. So we are powering through, heat by heat. We all want that gold medal. xo

SA Team HQ in Peru is pretty rad. Mr Mario and his family have been taking very good care of us. He seriously makes one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. Going to take a pic next time and post it up here. Seriously. Home made Pizza. THAT good. The rest of his cooking is RIGHT up there. Very stoked as I had been told that food can be an issue around here. So good job manager Mike for hooking us a sick spot to stay.  I had a small sleep in this morning. Got up at 5:00. Which is much better than waking up a 3:30 – thanks jetlag, like, thanks alot.  Went into town (FYI  -frikkin Hell taxi ride there) to visit the market, then had a fun surf on the right hander. Today I also learned that I must work on my spanish. cherio. xoxo
